After arriving into Baku on an early morning flight, we will first visit the Fire Mountain.
Yanar Dag (Fire Mountain) Travel to Yanar Dag, located approximately 25 kilometers northeast of Baku; Yanar Dag is a natural gas fire that has been continuously burning on a hillside for centuries. The flames reach up to 3 meters in height, resulting from natural gas seeping through the porous sandstone and igniting upon contact with the air. This mesmerizing sight has long been a source of fascination and intrigue for locals and visitors alike.
Yanar Dag’s eternal flames have played a significant role in the region’s history and culture, inspiring ancient myths and legends and drawing pilgrims and travelers to its mystical fires. The area surrounding Yanar Dag offers stunning views of the Caspian Sea, and a small on-site museum provides further insight into the geological processes responsible for this intriguing phenomenon.
Post visit, we will have lunch on our way to Shadag at a local restaurant to enjoy their traditional food.
We will then have our second stop for Coffee break near Beshbarmag mountain
Once we arrive at Shadag, we will be free to enjoy the activities, such as:
At night we will have dinner in Laza village, before retiring into our guest lodges. We will have some fun at night playing games and enjoying the traditional tea.
For adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers, Laza village is a dream come true. The dense forests surrounding the village offer numerous hiking trails, allowing visitors to explore the area and discover hidden gems along the way. As you hike through the trails, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the majestic mountains that surround the village. It’s an experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and connected to nature.
Arrive in the small village of Laza, located at a height of 1300 meters above sea level at the foot of Mount Shahdag. Begin hiking to the waterfall, located just a few kilometers from the village, enjoying ample photo opportunities of stunning mountain lakes and canyons along the way. The waterfall itself offers picturesque views and a serene, untouched natural setting.
Upon reaching the waterfall.
LAZA VILLAGE Laza is far smaller than Xinaliq and feels even more remote. It’s surrounded by misty mountains, towering cliffs and filled with waterfalls. It’s an incredibly special place to visit and if you like exploring you’ll absolutely love it.
Most people will either arrive or visit Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital, at some point during their journey. The city is the ultimate blend of contemporary and historic vibes, which is perfectly visible in the city’s center. Here, you can admire the Maiden Tower, a 12th-century stone monument that’s listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and is featured on Azeri banknotes. Not far away, you’ll find the Flame Towers, three stunning pieces of architecture that represent modern and oil-rich Azerbaijan. The Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center (see below) is another example of the extravagant engineering Baku has seen in the last centuries.
Baku has a handful of engaging museums and monuments, including the visually stunning Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater and the National History Museum of Azerbaijan.
Return home with memories from a fun-filled thrilling weekend.
